Bible studies, running shoes and other good stuff
This last week has been very good (like most of my weeks are). Last Sunday I had a great time together with I.K. We had our usual bible study, but in addition we did a bible study on the Lord’s Supper, which was very interesting. The reason for this study was a discussion the day before. I.K., Gunvor (both my room mates) and I discussed whether bread and wine was required, or if something else would do. So I spent most of last Sunday talking and studying the bible with I.K. It’s so great to live with one of the people in my cell group. It makes it easier to talk about things, inspire and encourage each other.
On Monday I went to school as usual, having my weekly piano lesson. (I’m actually playing classical music again, which I haven’t done in years!) As I had things to get done before Tuesday, I skipped the child- and youth ministry classes. (Perhaps not so wise, but oh well…) After that we usually have ensamble (band) lessons, but I had forgotten that we did not this day, so all of a sudden I had more time. (It should be a learning lesson after skipping classes in vain.) In the afternoon I caught a train to Jessheim to have my second rehearsal as the new director of my old youth choir. I really enjoy it so far.
Tuesday was ordinary, but good, and so was Wednesday. Wednesday is cell group day, and that is always enjoyable. This time several of us were a little ailing, but it’s always good to meet to be with God anyway. :)
On Thursday I bought new running shoes. (Hallelujah!) I got new ones for Christmas, but my dad who had bought them at “Løplabbet” told me to go and try them on the treadmill in the store. They have this great service of examining your feet and letting the buyer run on the treadmill while they film your feet. Then they can see how your feet hit the ground and adjust after that when considering shoes. I did this earlier this month, but still I managed to get too small ones. So I had to go back again, and get some fitting ones, and on Friday I celebrated this by going for a run. :) It was great.
On Friday night I was at my brother Einar’s place. We ordered pizza and watched Episode III of Star Wars, which I had not seen. We had a really good time.
Yesterday I went home. There were two reasons for this: I was invited to Bård Olav’s (a friend of mine from home) twentieth birthday party. It was very enjoyable. I also had a need of getting out of the city and breathe some fresh air. Lovely. So today I’m at my parent’s house reading the Bible and Pride and Prejudice, going for a walk later, and having mom’s lasagne for dinner, before I head back late this afternoon to study Romans with I.K.… Life is good, and the coming week will be exciting. In a week I’m off to Wales for two weeks, and the thought of that excites me. I am very much looking forward to it, but at the same time my stomach is full of butterflies…
Have a blessed week you all!
