Dancing the night away

I had the time of my life out on town last night. (At least it was really really great!) Some friends of mine from school were playing at the café/club where on of them is a DJ. Bente, who goes to my school and my church, and I had asked our cell group to come. We were five that went. We sat and listened to them playing their electronica music, which was really good. Afterwards we danced the night away to groovy house music. I danced constantly for an hour or two. But the great thing was this: I counted at a certain time twelve Christians there. And then DJ Slim Beat put on his gospel house and for my part turned it all into a praise party! It was awesome! -Dancing my guts out for the Lord! I’ve seldom experienced something like it. What a feeling!

I’ve had this thought/idea lately. Every time I’ve gone out dancing or just hanging around town this fall, I’ve been thinking about all the people out there clubbing, dancing or drinking that don’t know Jesus. It stings my heart. So I’ve been thinking how great it would be to go “Clubbing for Jesus”, and meeting people out there to talk about Jesus. Just think what impact it could have if young Christians that like to go out, would go out with the purpose of sharing Jesus with people. I’ve made some thoughts about how this should be done, because I think there should be a little more to it than just the casual going out and “accidentally” talk to someone about Jesus. I’m thinking more of an organized thing. But I have no clue if this is God’s plan or my own idea. And I don’t know any details about it. So, please pray for this if you believe in prayer! I like the idea, but I only want to go thru with it if God likes the idea as well. And if it is his idea I need him to tell me or others more about it! So please pray!

Funny grocery shopping

On Wednesday I went to my local grocery store at Bislet to buy some snacks. I went to get in line and saw someone’s food basket standing on the floor before me. I stepped back a little because I understood that the owner had just went to get something he had forgotten. Then this big guy came and bumped into me and got in line in front of me. What a strange thing to purposely bump into me, I thought, slightly annoyed that he didn’t apologize. Then he turned around towards me and looked at me with an unfriendly face.
“–Are you trying to sneak to get before me, or what?“
I was sure he was pulling a joke, so I plainly laughed. Even the lady standing before him in the line turned around looking like she was wondering what was going on. Then he pointed at the basket on the floor before me, and asked me“Do you see that?”. He sounded really annoyed. I was still hoping he was kidding me, so I just giggled nervously. Then he just stood there glaring at me, so I finally said” yes, I can see that”. I probably had really a sheepy smile on my face. He might have said something more before I just had to ask him “You’re just kidding me, right?”
“-No!...
…Yes!” Then he turned around with a grin on his face.

That really gave me something to laugh at for the rest of the day.

Check out my new photo album from Florence. It's "Firence 2005". It was a rather funny trip, actually. Many laughs. :) But it is very good to be back home. I'm looking forward to school on monday!

Heading for Florence

My family and I are heading for Florence, Italy tomorrow morning! That's pretty amazing, even though I haven't really spent a lot of time anticipating it. I've kept rather busy hanging out with people, which I have enjoyed very much. Nevertheless, it will probably be great coming to Florence. Maybe even better because of my lack of excitement. Then nothing will disappoint me, just positively surprise me. :)
